Lighting

I posed her with her face in the shade and just the back of her head in the sunlight. In this spot, the natural light created studio-quality lighting on her beautiful hair. To create equally beautiful lighting on her face, I brought in a white reflector.

Posing and Expression

For the image on the facing page, I had my model drop her chin just a little bit. This forces the subject to look in a slightly upward direction. It creates better eye contact and opens the eyes up for more impact and a more compelling expression. Check out the inset images above for a closer look.
